We can see in this postcard a wonderful idea. Berlin don´t have beaches. No problem. Built a swimming pool along the river. An idea maybe for Lisbon and other world cities.
Moored in the river Spree in Berlin, you'll find one of the most unique swimming pools in all of Germany: The Badeschiff, a floating pool which was created from a huge cargo container.
What started as an art project in 2004 is now the coolest place to be on hot summer days.
The open-air pool gets packed with families and young people, so if you want to swim laps, come early in the morning.
While the kids play in the sand, you can relax on a sun chair, grab a drink at the open-air bar, or take a yoga class on the banks of the river. After it gets dark, the illuminated pool turns into a popular hang out for Berlin's night owls - parties, concerts, and open air screenings last long into the summer night.
