Has one of the most comprehensive permanent exhibitions in Vigo, which it combines with temporary exhibitions, always related to the world of the sea and fishing. This is the perfect place to learn about Vigo’s maritime history: fishing, seafood, aquaculture and conservation, from the primitive salting to the modern freezing methods, as well as technical advances regarding boats and marine biology.

Rodas Beach was chosen the best beach in the world by the British newspaper The Guardian, and you’ll know why as soon as you step on it. This impressive beach, more than half a mile long and 200 feet wide, is ideal to spend a family day and right next to the dock, so you’ll hardly have to walk.

The beach joins the islands of Monteagudo and Faro. It has fine, white sand and crystal clear, emerald waters. Next to it you’ll find natural dune areas.

El Sireno is Vigo’s monument par excellence. Located in the Porta do Sol, this sculpture by Galician artist Francisco Leiro is one of the symbols of modern Vigo; its style and the very high pedestal on which it stands make it an impressive work of art. The sculpture was installed in 1991 and represents an imaginary character, a hybrid of fish and man. Since then, it has become one of Vigo’s most representative monuments due to its striking modernity and how it reflects the city, which it monitors from its elevated location.

BAYONA (PONTEVEDRA) - SPAIN

Postcards from Baiona. We can see Baiona scenes behind 5 postcards from Cerveceria d´sastre in Casco Vello (old town).

Baiona is a tourist town with a medieval historical center situated by the outlet of the Vigo Bay.

Parador of Baiona. Within the official Spanish category of Paradores of Spain (hotels with a historical and architectural value), Baiona counts with a good example of a well-preserved historical building. Surrounded by a stone wall, sitting in a small peninsula, the old hotel and restaurant watches the entrance of the Rias Baixas and the Cies Islands.[4]

Monte Real Yacht Club Baiona. The yacht club, founded in 1965, is located side by side with the Parador. It is host of international regattas and home to a sailing school, bringing maritime tourists to the city.

MORATALLA - SPAIN

Hello

Yesterday I received 2 postcards from Ayuntamiento de Moratalla. Thanks a lot.

We can see a view at susnset (beautiful) end castle at night.

Moratalla's sights include the Fortress Castle a military-gothic style building which dates from the 15th century. There is also an Arab castle in Benizar, built in the 12th century.

The Catholic Church of Our Lady of the Asuncion dates from the 16th century). Other churches include Santa Ana or San Francisco and the "House of Christ", on the mountain, built by the Order of La Merced from the 16th century.

There are two Roman bridges in Moratalla: the Jesus Christ Bridge over the Benámor River, and the Hellin Bridge over the Alhárabe River.

ARCHIDONA - Historic-Artistic Site MALAGA - ANDALUCIA (SPAIN)

The city was declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 1980 for Baroque urban and architectural heritage.The municipality is home to several archaeological sites from different periods and areas of ecological interest such as the Natural Lagoons Reserve of Archidona and Hoz de Marín. It is also the headquarters of the Andalusian and Mediterranean Cinema Displays.

Moorish Castle

At the time of the Moorish occupation it was impenetrable, with its three layers of ramparts protecting it and with an imposing rock face behind it.

The Hermitage of La Virgen de Gracia

This hermitage (ermita) and sanctuary is dedicated to the devotion of the patron saint, La Virgen de la Gracia. This is a unique site in Andalucia because it has been built on the original site of the Arabic Mosque, while all others were destroyed.

SIERO - ASTURIAS - SPAIN

Last Wednesday I received 1 postcard. Sent me by Ayuntamiento de Siero it was a special request when this town makes in Lisbon a Folk Mask Festival.

We can see a Roman Bridge - Bergueres - in this town with Nora River refletions.

The Roman colonisation left its mark in our Municipality, with roads and some bridges such as those of Colloto, Bergueres or Lugones, as well as the one of Pola de Siero, which used to have two arches over the river Seco, and was destroyed around 1886.
