AYERBE (ARAGON) - SPAIN

The Mallos de Riglos are a set of conglomerate rock formations in Hoya de Huesca comarca, AragonSpain.
The scenery is beautiful view of Los Mallos, very peculiar rock formation Mallos. Very peculiar rock formations that can both climb and go hiking from his birthplace, the village of Riglos.
The town center features two rectangular squares either side of the 16th-century palace of the Marquesses de Ayerbe or palace of the Marquesses of Urriez (declared a historical monument in 1931), and in general it is the collection of domestic architecture and other architecturally distinguished buildings that make Ayerbe particularly worth visiting.
Ayerbe's main claim to fame is that Santiago Ramón y Cajal, winner of the 1906 Nobel prize in Physiology or Medicine, lived here for ten years. The town promotes his memory with a museum and visitor centre; Ayerbe library holds a collection of Cajal-related books with more than 250 works and documents for public use.
Ayerbe has a public library, casino, bars, municipal swimming pool and, around the town, a network of footpaths, fields and highways for walkers and cyclists. There are several restaurants, a hotel and bed and breakfast accommodation, as well as tourist information center in the summer months in one of the town squares. Other attractions include Fontaneta park (at 42°16′43″N 00°41′19″W) and the "La Fuente de los Tres Caños" fountain.
The hill directly behind the town is the location of a now renovated chapel at one end and a Moorish castle (in ruins) at the other. These can be reached on foot or by all terrain vehicle and provide excellent views of the surrounding countryside (even to the Pyrenees).
The town is known by many in the region for its "Tortas de Ayerbe", which are sweet flat, round pastries, usually flavoured with aniseed. Visitors can also purchase locally produced wine, olive oil and honey.
The monastery of San Juan de la Peña is a religious complex in the town of Santa Cruz de la Serós, at the south-west of Jaca, in the province of HuescaSpain. It was one of the most important monasteries in Aragon in the Middle Ages. Its two-level church is partially carved in the stone of the great cliff that overhangs the foundation. San Juan de la Peña means "Saint John of the Cliff".
Loarre is one of the most famous and well-preserved medieval fortresses in Spain. Most of its structures were built in 11-12th centuries. The fortress itself makes an impressive picture and also offers fascinating panoramas of the valley beneath. The fortresses is easily accessible from a vast parking above and via a visitors center (souvenir shop and a cafeteria included). Walking to the fortress and climbing its several levels takes some effort. Views from the top of two highest towers are great. The place is very popular and gets really crowded during weekends. The complex can be observed in about an hour, some people take walks along its extensive walls and beyond.
High up on a pinacle of rock on the edge of the Pyrenees and overlooking a vast swathe of Aragon sits the fabulous Castle of Loarre. At one time this was the front line defence of the Christian world against the Muslim Moors. Used in films such as the Kingdom of Heaven it is one of the finest castles I have ever seen. Beautifully preserved with the fascinating St Peter's chapel it is off the beaten path but well worth the effort.

Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park is an IUCN Category II National Park situated in the Pyrenees of Huesca province,Aragon, Spain and France . There has been a National Park in the Ordesa Valley since 1918. Its protected area was enlarged in 1982 to cover the whole region amounting to 156.08 km².
It has been included since 1997 by UNESCO in the Biosphere Reserve of Ordesa-Viñamala. In the same year it was included in the cross-border Pyrénées - Mont Perdu World Heritage Site

FONTAINES - SAÔNE-ET-LOIRE

The village owes its name to the numerous source which spring from his territory.
We find tracks of Roman time there.
The village belonged to the Lords of Fountains, who built a castle, then to the bishops of Chalon there, who freed the inhabitants in 1299.
The castle was plundered and destroyed in 1569.
There was one prioress Benedictine, a chapel (Saint Nicolas) and several washhouses.
